Linking To Us ...
updated December, 2005 ...
This page contains model text and banner links that you can use when linking or cross-linking to the Web-Wise-Wizard site. Links to this site from other sites are highly valued and this page provides a variety of ways that you can include a link to Web-Wise-Wizard on your own Website. Site owners and webmasters provide links to other sites for many varied reasons and whatever your reason is we invite you to link to this site NOW!
Guidance for site owners or webmasters who want to post a link to Web-Wise-Wizard on their own Website. We would not attempt to specify a style or wording for a link on someone else's Website as this is clearly your decision but we would ask that you to provide a standard HTML text or image link rather than a JavaScript link or a CGI redirect link. This is because search engines will not index JavaScript or CGI links. You can point links to our Home Page or to any individual subject page that you feel might be of interest to your users and we have provided some example link Markup, banners and images below.
Option 1 - New Style Multi-Link ...
earn a top listing in the Wise-Guy directory ...
One link type that we would like you to choose is this new style of multi-link. A multi-link can add real interest to your page and anyone is welcome to post one of these multi-links on their site. Each multi-link contains ten different links, all pointing to different pages within the Web-Wise Wizard Domain and if you post a multi-link as a reciprocal link to this site then we will position our link to your site at or near the top of the directory page that your link is posted on.
Multi-links hold no advantage to us as far as link popularity is concerned because only one link per external domain is included in link popularity calculations. However, there could be an improvement in page ranking for each of the pages pointed to in the multi-link and we intend to monitor sites that post multi-links to check that this theory is correct.

Option 2 - New Style Return-Link ...
Another link type that we would be happy for you to choose is this style of return-link which is a very good option if you are exchanging links with Web-Wise-Wizard. Each return-link contains two different links, one link pointing to the main URL of Web-Wise-Wizard --OR-- to the content page of your choice within the Web-Wise Wizard site and the other link pointing to the Web-Wise-Wizard directory page that contains our link to you.
As with multi-links, return-links hold no advantage to us as far as link popularity is concerned but they work on the principle that you should promote the page that contains a link to your site. In other words, providing a secondary link to the directory page that contains our link to you helps to increase the importance and page rank of that page which in turn, helps to increase the value of our link to you. Where appropriate, Web-Wise-Wizard automatically provides return-links to our link exchange partners.

Option 3 - General Purpose Text Links ...
This is likely to be the style favoured by many Directories. Unlike the options above, general purpose text links only contain one link which can point to the main URL of Web-Wise-Wizard --OR-- to the content page of your choice within the Web-Wise Wizard site. General purpose text links should not point directly to a page that contains a link to your site.

Option 4 - Legacy Image Links ...
Times have changed and text links have become far more popular than image links which are now falling out of fashion. However, we know that some of our users prefer image links because they add graphical color to a page and because of this we have retained a selection of buttons and banners which can be used instead of text links.
As with text links you can make your HTML image link point to the main URL of Web-Wise-Wizard --OR-- to the content page of your choice within the Web-Wise Wizard site. Where image links differ from text links is that it becomes important that you incluse a textual description in the both the link's TITLE attribute and in the images ALT Attribute so that search engines and other spiders can categorize the link and it's relevance.
